Speech for Republic Day
तिरंगा मिले कफन में मुझे यही उपहार होगा मेरा
मेरा हर जीवन, तेरे आंगन में पले यही अरमान होगा मेरा।
Good morning to all and sundry who is present over here on this beautiful occasion of republic day. As you all know Republic day is celebrated every year with pomp and show on 26th of January every year. This year India is going to celebrate its 73rd Republic day.
India became an independent republic country when it got its independence on the 15th of August 1947. But, at that time, India didn’t have its own constitution. Rather, it used British laws. A committee was formed under the leadership of Dr. B.R Ambedkar that submitted a draft of the Indian constitution, which was adopted on 26th November 1949 and ultimately it came into effect on 26 January 1950. Ever since we got Independence, the main celebration of Republic day is held at the national capital, New Delhi. People celebrate their much-awaited day even in front of the President, the Prime Minister and many other important government government officials.
Republic day is a big celebration in India. There are parades that take place. The parades start at Rashtrapathi Bhavan, go past the Indian Gate, and end at Raisina Hill on the Rajpath. After the parade, you can see the presence of lots of important people like Presidents and Prime Ministers of other countries as well who come to Republic day celebrations.
The flag ceremony starts at 8.am. This is followed by a speech from the president, and a parade.
Republic day march is a special event that shows the history of India. It also shows Indian military power and its potential all the hurdles. On this day, we remember the soldiers, who have sacrificed and dedicated their life for their country.
India is a democratic country. Every year, on this day, people have a lot of fun and celebrate it with great energy. In schools, many competitions are held that include dancing, singing and giving speeches about what India is. It’s great to live in a democratic country because the people who live there have the privilege of electing their leader! Although we have made a lot of progress, there are still some problems that we need to fix. We all want our nation to be better. One thing we can do is promise each other that we will be better and work hard so that we can solve these problems and make our country even better than it is now. Thank you, Jai Hind.
Speech on Republic Day in English (Brief)
A very bright morning to everyone who is sitting right in front of me on this auspicious occasion. As you all know, we have gathered here to celebrate the 73rd republic day of our country today. It is indeed an honour for me to be standing here an delivering a speech on republic day. Republic Day is celebrated every year on 26th January. This day has a special place in the heart of people and great significance in the history of India.
India’s Constitution came into effect on 26th January 1950. India got independent from British rule on 15 August 1947 but it did not have a constitution because there were many discussions and considerations. The committee headed by Dr. BR Ambedkar submitted the draft of the Indian constitution which was officially adopted on 26th November 1949 and came into effect on 26th January 1950, or Republic Day of India.
India is a democratic country. The people that live here can elect their leader themselves. It’s been better so far, but we still have problems such as pollution, poverty, and unemployment. One thing we can do is to promise each other that we will try our best to solve these problems and make India a better place for all of us.”
Before I sum up, I want to remember out national heroes, our soldiers, who lay down their lives for the protection of our motherland. Let’s not forget our martyrs who are always ready for the sacrifices.
Thank you very much for listening to me. Have a nice day ahead.
