Updated Syllabus | Class XII | Class XI | English Core | 2021- 2022 |

 

Having seen the gravity of the situation and analyzing the current scenario and rising number of cases of COVID-19 CBSE (Central Board of Education) has decided to cut down the syllabus of Class 12 and Class 11 English Core for the session 2021-2022. The only motto behind curbing down the syllabus is to give temporary relief to the students going to appear in the upcoming board examinations. Given below is updated syllabus of Class 12 English Core 2021-2022.



Subject : English Core

Class : XII

Total Marks : 100 (80+20)

Part A (Objective) – 40 Marks

1. Reading Section   : 20 Marks

(There will be two unseen passages each carrying 10 Marks)

2. Literature Section : 20 Marks

(There will be Extracts Based Questions asked from both the books’ Prose & Poetry)




Part B (Subjective) – 40 Marks

3. Writing Section     : 16 Marks

(Letter to Editor & Job Application)

 

4. Literature Section : 24 Marks

  • Five Short Answer Type Questions in 30-40 words  (5×2 = 10)
  • Two Short Answer Type Questions from Vistas  (2×2 = 4)
  • One Long Answer Type Question from Vistas  (1×5 = 5)
  • One Long Answer Type Question from Flaming  (1×5 = 5)




ASL – 20 Marks

Note: Rest of the 20 Marks will be awarded on the basis of ASL (Assessment of Speaking and Listening Skills) by the teacher concerned.
