Fixed Preposition | Verbs/Adjectives Followed by Fixed Preposition |

Fixed Preposition: English Grammar is really important when it comes to competitive exams. There is hardly any exam that doesn’t test your grammatical skills. Though, in English, there are many important grammatical topics such as; Tenses, Modals, Determiners, Subject Verb Concord/Agreement, Reported Speech, Preposition, Adjectives, Conditionals etc. but out of these, the most important topic is Fixed Preposition. There are many verbs/adjectives which are followed by preposition. It is very important for all of us to take care of these verbs if we want to avoid common errors in English. It is often seen that people don’t follow these verbs with fixed preposition. Given below is the list of such verbs.

 AFFECTION FOR Liking My mother has a lot of affection for my younger son.
AFFLICTED BY Distressed He was deeply afflicted by the death of his parents.
 AGREE WITH To be in agreement with a person He agreed with me on that proposal.

 AIM AT To Target Before getting married, he was aiming at IITs.
ALARMED AT To experience a sense of danger. We were alarmed at the thought of being late for our interview.
